A CIRCULAR ECONOMY IS RESTORATIVE BY INTENTION AND DESIGN

Firstly, what is a circular economy? It's a model of production and consumption that involves the sharing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling of existing materials and products to extend their life cycle for as long as possible. By recycling, you help to ensure these commonly recycled products don’t go into landfill. These products are instead remade into new products and "live again" in a circular economy model.

HOW MPACT IS LEADING THE WAY

Through our circular business model we are able to close the loop on waste. Our businesses are integrated, with Mpact Waste Management’s role right at the start of the process. This integration means we can ensure the continual use of resources. As the leading plastic and paper recycling and packaging manufacturer in southern Africa, we ensure valuable recyclable materials remain in the recycling stream so they can be turned into new products by our other businesses.

HOW
MPACT WASTE
MANAGEMENT
FITS IN:

The start and the end: waste generated from businesses (which includes recyclables; e-waste; food and organics) is analysed and sorted on site by Mpact Waste Management. Collection is then done on site by our team.

For non-recyclable waste – our team of experts devise sustainable non-landfill solutions (for example; food and organic waste go to a composting facility).

Recyclables are delivered to an Mpact Recycling Branch for processing. After this point, Mpact Recycling will send baled recyclables to the mills. From the mills, usable materials will go to the converting plants, which will then make the final paper/plastic products. These then end up being used by your business and so the process starts all over again.
